Jewelry care

Fine jewelry is made to be worn, but a little care helps preserve its finish and brilliance over time.

We recommend removing your jewelry before activities that may expose it to impact, harsh chemicals, chlorine, or abrasive surfaces. Store pieces separately when not in use to help prevent scratching.

For everyday cleaning, use a soft cloth and, when appropriate, a gentle jewelry-safe cleaning method.

Care

18K & 14K Gold

Gold can develop fine surface marks with regular wear. To help preserve its finish, avoid contact with chlorine, harsh chemicals, and abrasive surfaces. Clean gently with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush.

Care

Platinum

Platinum is durable and naturally white, but it can still develop a soft patina and surface marks over time. Clean it with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, and store it separately from other jewelry to help minimize scratching.

Care

Lab-Grown Diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds are durable, but oils and everyday residue can reduce their brilliance. Clean them periodically with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, paying particular attention to the underside of the setting where buildup can collect.

Professional cleaning & maintenance

Over time, everyday wear can affect both the finish of the metal and the security of the setting.

We recommend having fine jewelry professionally inspected and cleaned periodically, particularly pieces worn often. A jeweler can check prongs, settings, and stones for signs of wear and address small issues before they become larger ones.

For eternity rings and other stone-intensive designs, regular inspections are especially helpful because the settings extend around more of the piece.

Storage

Store your jewelry in a clean, dry place when it is not being worn.

We recommend keeping pieces separated in their original pouch, box, or individual compartment to help prevent scratching and contact between stones and metals.

For necklaces and bracelets, fastening the clasp before storing can also help reduce tangling.
